THE WHAT AND WHY

The clearance footwear wall serves to clear out older inventory, attract price-conscious consumers, maximize revenue, and manage space. It offers discounted options, enhances customer satisfaction, and attracts new shoppers. Additionally, it aids in seasonal transitions and allows for flexible pricing strategies. By selling these items, we’re allowing more consumers to wear our product while increasing our footwear selling KPIs.

THE HOW

Follow the steps below on preparing the sale product for the clearance footwear wall.

1. Remove the clearance footwear box lid.

All footwear sale items should not have a box lid.

Remove and throw out all tissue paper, silica packets, and shoe forms from box
Remove footwear and flip box over and cleanly cut along the fold of the box top (example to the right)
Return footwear to box

Cut along the fold of the front flap to remove product information

NOTE: if the box top contains product info (size/picture/barcode/price), cleanly cut along the fold of the front flap containing the product information.

2. Attach product information to the front of the box.

Once the front flap containing the product information is cleanly cut, carefully tape the product information to the front of the box.

3. Ensure the sale price is marked clearly (green or orange stickers) on the clearance footwear box near the product information and above the blue line.

4. Place the clearance footwear box on the clearance footwear wall, following the current gender and size location setup.

Tour your store’s clearance footwear wall noting how the gender and size flow on the wall. Identify any current size needs, then work with your store leader on finding the restock sale footwear product(s) in the back of house using the Clearance Footwear Restock Template. Using the process above, successfully complete preparing a clearance footwear box for the sales floor.
